When Logos look alike

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Every company or business has to make a decision how to describe the company’s image to the clients. Logos promote your products and identify your company’s image, slinging your business to success. Logos are assets to a company or business. They are a sign of the purpose and quality of the company. Whether the logos are comical or effervescent, they must be designed according to the company industry and its products. It gets more and more difficult to create original logos. No matter how clever your idea, the chances are someone has come up with something very similar. Why is that? Well, we’re all surrounded by the same influences and exposed to the same shapes, forms, and patterns. With the importance of branding in the marketplace, and thousands of designers working on similar projects, it’s obvious that ideas will, from time-to-time, look almost identical. Typically, a logo’s design is for immediate recognition. Some of the good examples include Apple Inc.’s apple with a bite missing, and Coca Cola’s fantastic art script. A log can be either an image reflecting the name or a script set aloof that impresses audience or a combination of both. It is also a good idea to design an image and create a byline that is catchy.

In this post I will show you some logos that have the similarity so you can feel the importance of unique and innovative ideas for logos. Here is the list!

Just to wrap up this post I would like to add words of Mike Davidson, “Tell yourself at every step in the design process that someone has undoubtedly already thought of this and what can you do to really set it apart. In design, and particularly logo design, the pessimistic axiom that “everything has already been done” is becoming more and more true, and it is only the virtuous designer who can continue to stand out in a sea of sameness.”

nice comparisons, however some of those are not exactly as similar as others but even a slight similarity which might be perfectly legal is still, honestly against good business ethics,

Great post. Professional company logos are very attractive, especially when they tech companies. Do you like Apple logo, or Windows Os or maybe IBM? Which is your favorie- you can vote here
