Logo Design –From the BC Age to Modern Logo Design Companies

The start of twentieth century marked the birth of the modern graphic designer. Creative art has gone through tremendous transformations over the millenniums and has evolved into an efficient and creative process.

Graphic design in general dates back to 13,000 BC in a cave in southwestern France in the shape of Paleolithic paintings. The location is Lascaux, the place which marked the transcending of graphic designing to the next level.

The ancient Greeks employed huge diameter punches in order to imprint various design on coins and other things. This spelled the rise of moveable types as well as typefaces which were at that time used mostly for the purpose of printing books. In the 11th Century, moveable types had been made with letters written on them quickly allowing images as well as text to be imprinted onto several copies without a lot of effort. After Gutenberg invented the printing press close to 1450, the logo design quickly rose in ranks as an effective marketing tool.

After the birth of the printing press, very little was seen in the wake of new technologies to aid widespread use of logos. In the 1800s however, several developments happened and the use of typography, image development as well as page layout evolved and logos began to have ever greater impact. The efficiency of these logos has increased many folds ever since and logo design today is one of the most effective marketing tools around.
