Campaign Logo Designs for Three Contenders to the White House
Every organization and entity that wants to be noticed cannot overlook the importance of a brand. And so haven’t our Presidential contenders. All 3 of the remaining Presidential candidates, leaving aside Ralph Nader, have built on a strong branding campaign to win the top job.
Let’s start of with a look at the campaign logo design of John McCain, the Republican candidate and a celebrated war hero. The star and strips do a good job at glorifying his rich military background along with spreading hope and signifying a prosperous future for America. One point worth mentioning here is that his campaign logo is quite similar if not the same to that of Thomson Financial, the leading information resource provider in the world.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign logo does a very good job overall signifying hope and a better future for America. At the same time, it also symbolizes her ample qualification for the job. The use of italic on the right side of the logo gives a feminist approach and is a good choice to symbolize the fact that she is a female candidate.
Barack Obama’s campaign logo signifies strength charisma and a dead serious approach. This is more or less in line with the personality of the candidate, He is hardly seen making jokes in speeches and in fact is often taken as a visionary and even out of this world kind of candidate. The awkward font has made it less recognizable and therefore less effective.
Each of the candidates is expected to spend tens and hundreds of millions of dollars on advertising and other moves to market their candidature. The logo is every where their campaign goes, from speech podium to TV ads and increasingly important, their websites. Last year both the Democratic and Republican Presidential Candidates spent more than $1 Billion each trying to get their message out to votes and attract their attention.
