Amoco
Initially, Amoco did not have its own official logo but was expected to use a logo which was also used by all of Indiana’s gas stations. This universal logo included the Standard’s torch as well as the Amoco’s oval. The only feature which was different about the logo used by all gas station was the text incorporated within the logo design for each different brand. After a competition, the first ever Amoco logo design was revealed in 1926. The logo design comprised of a circle within which the name Standard Oil Company (Indiana) was incorporated with the color red. The circle symbolizes the dependability, strength as well as stability of the company whilst the bold color red symbolizes the strength of the oil company.
Furthermore, within this logo design was a torch image with flame ignited this symbolizes the developing and progressive aspect of the oil company. This logo was completely modified with new colors and instead of Standard, Amoco was written. Then another logo was a smoother version of this one with a blue bottom with words thicker. The word Amoco was used within the oil company logo design until the entire company was changed to BP.
The final Amoco logo design features the name Amoco as it is more common in the east then the west. However, recently the BP employs its own helios logo. If you are looking for an oil company logo design, then check out the Guru package offered at Logo Design Guru. They offer ten original designs.
